Incorporating leading education, developmental and psychology theories, and with the help of First Decision’s English teacher experts, First Decision International Preschool has developed a proprietary curriculum that includes fully adapted English teaching materials for Chinese children aged 1-6. The curriculum includes 114 language points, distributed over 4 grades. After 4 years of study using First Decision’s curriculum, students will be able to learn and master all the language points.

First Decision teachers are required to use the teacher’s manual as a blueprint. The manual requires all teachers (foreign and Chinese) to have detailed lesson plans prepared prior to each class. The lesson plans must include activities that meet the language learning points by clearly defining the lesson plan objectives thereby creating a measurable way to monitor progress. 

Teaching English as a second language to children is different from teaching a second language to an adult. The main difference being that many concepts are abstract for early learners, as a result, teachers employ a variety of language acquisition activities such as rhyming, chanting, singing, reading, playing games that are fun and age appropriate.

Teaching materials developed by First Decision are the collaborative effort by language experts and teachers applying both theoretical research and teaching experience. First Decision's teacher’s manual offers children an ideal foundation for life long learning as well as providing a valuable guide book for people working in early education in China.
